UWC Youth Leadership Summer Course in Australia 2011
UWC Youth Leadership Summer Course in Australia 2011 High school and university students (aged 17 to 20) from all over the world are invited to participate in the UWC Youth Leadership Summer Course in Australia in 2011. Applicants who are recommended by UWC National Committees will be given priority of acceptance into the Summer Course. The Summer Course will provide participants with an introductory UWC experience. This will increase the global reach of UWC by having more young people living the UWC ethic. It is assumed that the more graduates of the UWC experience, the more effective we will become in fulfilling our mission.
The Summer Course will be an experiential, residential program that helps young people gain and apply leadership skills in the context of grassroots projects for economic, social and environmental development in a globalized world. Building on the model utilized during last year's UWC course in China, this year's Summer Course will be facilitated by current Red Cross Nordic staff and graduates. The Summer Course will run from Wednesday 22 June to Monday 4 July. The program will take place in three locations: the city of Sydney, the surrounding Blue Mountains and the Northern Territory.
